Uniqlo U 26FW: Christophe Lemaire’s Final Collection Arrives 11 September

Ten years after Uniqlo U debuted, its original design chapter is coming to an end. The 26FW collection, launching 11 September, is the final collaboration from Christophe Lemaire and Sarah-Linh Tran.

Since 2016, the pair have shaped Uniqlo U around the idea of “Future LifeWear”: practical clothing refined through proportion, fabric and colour rather than overt branding. For menswear, that approach remains intact for the final outing.

The Wool Blend Short Coat brings cold-weather function into a compact silhouette, with workwear references keeping it firmly grounded. The Fishtail Parka takes another utilitarian staple and pares it back for a more contemporary fit, leaving room for individual styling rather than prescribing a complete look.

Colour is similarly controlled, although bright red appears as an accent, giving the otherwise considered palette a sharper edge.

Lemaire and Tran describe their decade with Uniqlo as one of the high points of their design careers, crediting the Japanese approach to quality, development and continual refinement. Their stated ambition was never simply to produce affordable designer-influenced clothing, but to rethink what everyday clothing could be at scale.

That distinction matters. Uniqlo U’s influence has largely come from making considered menswear feel ordinary in the best possible sense: useful, restrained and properly designed.

The 26FW collection launches globally on Friday 11 September 2026, closing the Lemaire and Tran chapter while Uniqlo U moves into its next phase.
