Gap x Malbon: American Sportswear Gets a Second Act

Gap and Malbon are back for a second collaboration, bringing their shared interest in sport, American style and contemporary dressing into a 35-piece collection for Fall.

Following their first collaboration in 2025, the latest release pushes further into lifestyle territory, pairing Gap’s archive-led approach to American sportswear with Malbon’s irreverent take on golf culture. The result is a wardrobe designed to move between the course, the court and the street without looking like it belongs exclusively to any one of them.

For men, the collection leans into heritage sportswear without treating it as a costume. Rugby polos, prep-inspired knitwear and relaxed outerwear sit alongside contemporary silhouettes, while limited-edition golf accessories extend the Malbon influence beyond clothing.

The appeal is in the tension between the two brands. Gap brings recognisable American staples and decades of sportswear references; Malbon disrupts them with a more playful, fashion-conscious perspective. It makes familiar pieces feel relevant without resorting to excessive branding or technical performance language.

The expanded collaboration also broadens the partnership beyond its predominantly menswear-led origins, with a more substantial women’s offering. Together, the two sides are positioning sport less as a category and more as a cultural framework for how people dress now.

The Gap × Malbon collection launches today, Friday, August 21, at 5pm via Gap UK and Next UK
