HOKA Stinson 8 Is the Brand's Lightest, Most Stable Road-to-Trail Shoe Yet

HOKA continues to refine its position beyond pure performance running with the launch of the Stinson 8, a complete redesign of one of the brand's most versatile road-to-trail silhouettes. Arriving on 30 July, the latest iteration is lighter, more stable and engineered to move seamlessly between pavement and dirt without sacrificing the maximal cushioning that has become synonymous with the label.

The biggest update comes in the form of an all-new H-Frame™ system. Reworked with an open "H" construction, the technology is designed to provide greater stability through the gait cycle while helping runners maintain confidence over uneven terrain. It's a practical evolution for those who split their mileage between city streets, park trails and weekend escapes.

Comfort remains central to the Stinson story. A plush dual-layer midsole delivers substantial cushioning and improved shock absorption, while a breathable engineered mesh upper is reinforced with durable woven overlays for added resilience. A moulded cage wraps the midfoot to create a secure lockdown fit, complemented by a dual-sided gusseted tongue that helps keep debris out on dusty trails.

Underfoot, HOKA has also redesigned the all-terrain rubber outsole, creating a tread pattern intended to transition more naturally from asphalt to loose ground without feeling overly aggressive on the road.

At 320g (men's UK equivalent sample) with a 5mm heel-to-toe drop, the Stinson 8 balances generous cushioning with a noticeably lighter feel than previous generations. Finishing details include an ergonomic webbing heel pull for easier entry.
