Mercedes-Benz and adidas Give the Samba OG a Luxury Makeover
The adidas Samba has another high-profile collaborator. Mercedes-Benz joins adidas on a limited-edition version of the terrace classic, bringing details inspired by the German marque’s flagship S-Class to one of menswear’s most recognisable trainers.
Available now the adidas Samba OG x Mercedes-Benz marks the beginning of a strategic partnership between the two brands, launched during Mercedes-Benz’s 140th anniversary year.
The design keeps the familiar Samba OG silhouette but introduces a more automotive approach to its detailing. The upper takes inspiration from the diamond stitching found inside the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, while the Mercedes-Benz logo appears on the tongue. The result connects adidas’ sporting heritage with the luxury carmaker’s approach to interior design and craftsmanship.
The trainers arrive in three monochromatic colourways: Magic Beige, Grey Five and Black. Rather than reinventing the Samba, the collaboration works within its established design language, using the S-Class interior as a reference point.
It is a logical pairing. The Samba began life as an indoor football shoe before becoming a fixture of contemporary menswear, moving well beyond its sporting origins. Mercedes-Benz, meanwhile, has spent decades building a visual identity that extends beyond its cars. Both brands understand the value of a recognisable silhouette and the commercial appeal of heritage.
The collaboration also signals a longer-term relationship, with further projects planned beyond the footwear launch. For now, the Samba OG x Mercedes-Benz offers a meeting of two German institutions, with the details doing the talking.
The limited-edition trainers are available to order online and from selected adidas stores now.
