Norse Projects x adidas

For their spring summer 2023 collaboration with adidas, Norse Projects decided to go back to nature, inspired by Scandinavian landscapes, colours, and textures.

Specifically, that means over one thousand kilometres off the northwest coast of Denmark, the remote Faroe Islands (or in Danish, Færøerne) which are a raw but beautiful protrusion of rocks that juts out of the water of the South Norwegian Sea. This volcanic archipelago's disparate landscape is an autonomous territory that is part of the Kingdom of Denmark; its craggy cliffs, picturesque valleys, and towering mountains create a natural colour palette unlike anything else on Earth.

The most recent collection features the Campus and the Skychaser which represent the duality of Norse Projects. The casual and city-ready Campus is for the sidewalks of central København, for pedalling along Nørrebrogade, before they sit still briefly, stuffed with socks on the pier, as their owner leaps headlong into the harbour. The Campus is crafted with an English calf leather upper, while recycled elements are used for the stripes and heel overlay. Norse Projects’ Skychaser represents the outdoors. It’s a testament to the pursuit of technical mastery and a conditioned shoe that would welcome the varied terrains and lands of the Faroe Islands. It’s a shoe that is conceived for navigators and explorers. The upper features a two-way stretch woven nylon, resting on a Boost sole unit.

The Terrex Skychaser model is set in Ash Black, while Deep Navy characterizes the obscure dark spectrum of colour on the glassy rocks as they meet the shores of the sea. The Campus 80s evokes the less rugged side of the Faroes. Dark green appears on the Campus as it does throughout the hills and dwellings of Saksun, an architectural practice that is linked to the Faroe Islands.
