KYLE HO SS27: The Human Condition

KYLE HO presented SS27, Chapter Three: The Human Condition, at Crypt On The Green in Clerkenwell, London, on 18 September, continuing the designer’s ongoing narrative through a collection centred on humanity and its contradictions.

Following Love, Louis and Goodbye, Martin, the third chapter considers the point at which human qualities can become destructive. Desire becomes obsession, repetition becomes ritual, and control becomes confinement. Rather than spelling out the narrative, KYLE HO builds it into the clothes and the body.

Tailoring remains the foundation. Familiar structures are altered through shifted proportions, changing volumes and unexpected construction, pushing established tailoring into less conventional territory without abandoning its underlying discipline.

Craftsmanship is equally central. Here, it extends beyond hand-making to the knowledge, precision and time required to construct garments, with that expertise then applied to new forms.

SS27 also expands KYLE HO’s collaboration with British makers and specialist partners. Pantherella, the British sock manufacturer, and milliner Katherine Elizabeth contribute their respective expertise, while sustainable fabric supplier Fabric House is involved in the collection’s material development and sourcing.

The result continues KYLE HO’s chapter-by-chapter approach, where each collection introduces a new character, moment or condition while advancing the wider narrative. With The Human Condition, the focus shifts from individual stories to the complexities of humanity itself.
