At the time of our interview in late April 2023, Ben Whittaker has just returned from a trip training in Miami, where he was readying himself for a May fight against opponent Jordan Grant (he would go on to win that fight). In 2021, at the men’s light-heavyweight category at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Ben won the silver medal. At the time he tweeted the controversial, but actually aspirational "You don't win silver, you lose gold. I'm very disappointed - I feel like a failure.”
