Drawing the Future — 25 Years of Folk
As Folk Clothing marks 25 years in the game, it’s not content to just look back. Instead, it’s inviting the next generation to pick up a pencil and help shape what comes next. The milestone is less of a retrospective and more of a forward-facing call to arms — rooted in creativity, community and craft.
Launching April 22, the Archive Collection – Chosen by You brings back fan-favourite silhouettes, reinterpreted for 2025. Long-time Folk family members helped shape the lineup: a washed denim jacket becomes the Anniversary Jacket; a cardigan known for its “little people” motif returns with fresh, boxy proportions and signature embroidery. This is nostalgia updated — personal, wearable, and built to last.
Then there are the brand’s new ambassadors. Five makers — including illustrator Joey Yu, ceramicist Ali Lousada and glassblower Jochen Holz — were each given a pencil and free rein to create something unique. Their work will be auctioned, with all proceeds going toward short-course bursaries for emerging creatives.
In tandem, Folk is launching an Artist in Residence programme, based out of its new Eastcastle Street store in W1. Kicking off with Joey Yu, the residency offers a dedicated space for up-and-coming talent to experiment, exhibit, and grow. It’s a deliberate investment in the next chapter of British design culture — one that invites new voices to leave their mark.
From the Archive drop to the artist-led initiatives, Folk’s 25th is less about commemoration, more about continuation. Because, as they put it, “the best ideas are still waiting to be drawn.”
