PANGAIA Takes to the Court
Luxury sportswear has become crowded with over-designed performance pieces pretending to be fashion. PANGAIA goes the opposite way with its SS26 Courtside Capsule: stripped-back, technically advanced, and refreshingly easy to wear.
Inspired by racquet sports, the collection builds around clean silhouettes and restrained colour rather than overt athletic references. Granite Navy, Ice Grey, and Dewdrop Blue keep everything sharp, while white contrast zips and drawcords add just enough definition across the menswear offering. The strongest pieces are the recycled nylon separates — particularly the hooded zip-through jacket and relaxed track pants — which avoid the usual aggressive sportswear styling in favour of something more versatile. The proportions are easy, the detailing minimal, and the overall effect sits somewhere between performance kit and modern travel wardrobe.
What elevates the capsule beyond standard luxury activewear is the fabric development behind it. PANGAIA’s proprietary (gaia) BioStretch material replaces conventional fossil-fuel-derived synthetics with bio-based alternatives engineered to retain the stretch, softness, and durability expected from premium sportswear. Crucially, none of that innovation overwhelms the design itself.
The collection also incorporates HeiQ Cool technology for temperature regulation and HeiQ Mint, a plant-based odour-control treatment designed to extend freshness between washes. Technical, certainly — but delivered with enough subtlety that the collection never feels like wearable laboratory equipment.
That balance matters. Too often, “future fabrics” arrive wrapped in awkward design and overworked branding. Courtside avoids both. The result is sportswear that feels considered rather than performative; clothing designed for actual daily wear instead of social media gym mirrors.
