Skate Smart: G.H.BASS x Pop Trading Company Rework a Classic
The loafer has long since left the boardroom. With their latest collaboration, G.H.BASS and Pop Trading Company make that evolution official.
At the centre is the Easy Weejuns® — the Ivy League staple that has spent decades on the feet of everyone from East Coast traditionalists to downtown dressers. This season, it’s reworked through Pop’s skate-driven lens, without losing the integrity that made it iconic in the first place.
The update is precise. Smooth, hand-polished leather uppers arrive in black and rich chocolate, elevated by Pop Trading Company’s custom metallic POP snaffle hardware. Finished in silver and gold tones, the detail feels considered rather than decorative — a subtle disruption that nods to skate culture’s instinct for remixing the familiar.
Construction remains pure G.H.BASS. Each pair is built using the brand’s signature hand-sewn moccasin technique, preserving the Easy Weejuns®’ lightweight structure and flexibility. A softly padded footbed ensures all-day wearability, while a durable, water-resistant rubber outsole delivers grip that feels as relevant on city pavements as it does on a board.
From a menswear perspective, the appeal is obvious. The Easy Weejuns® already sit comfortably with relaxed tailoring, cropped trousers and heavyweight socks. With Pop’s intervention, they lean further into contemporary styling — equally at home with loose denim and a chore jacket as they are with summer suiting.
