Barbour x Paul Smith Return to the Seaside

British fashion does nostalgia well. It does outerwear even better. For Spring/Summer 2026, Barbour and Paul Smith reunite for their second collaborative outing, this time taking a bracing walk along the British coast.

The 46-piece collection builds on the success of their first partnership, merging Barbour’s maritime heritage with Paul Smith’s modern eccentricity. The result is a sharply considered wardrobe that leans into seaside culture without tipping into costume. It’s unisex once again, but notably introduces womenswear for the first time — expanding the conversation without diluting the DNA.

For the men’s offering, the outerwear does the heavy lifting. Classic Barbour silhouettes are reworked with a lighter, more relaxed sensibility. The Transport and Spey jackets arrive in blue and green gingham, while the Durham Wax Jacket is refreshed in new seasonal colourways. Linings carry photographic prints taken by Paul Smith and his father — melting ice creams, wind-swept deckchairs — subtle details that feel personal rather than gimmicky.

Elsewhere, tartans and gingham sit comfortably alongside Smith’s unmistakable stripes. Polka dots make an appearance, but in controlled doses. The silhouettes are soft and unstructured, designed for layering rather than rigidity — practical enough for unpredictable British weather, considered enough for city wear.

Accessories sharpen the mood. Footwear features Barbour-inspired D-rings and linings that combine signature stripes with authentic tartan. Summer bags borrow from traditional trout fishing styles, while fly-fishing embroidery lands neatly on bucket hats. The seaside references are clear, but never heavy-handed.

The expanded pin badge offering returns, sold individually for those who like their outerwear with a touch of personality. And then there’s the “Fortuna Fish” — a complimentary charm included with every jacket. Place it on your palm, match its movement to the card provided, and receive a tongue-in-cheek reading of your fortune. It’s playful, yes, but it reinforces what both brands understand: British style thrives on character.

The Paul Smith Loves Barbour Spring/Summer 2026 collection is out now. Consider this your cue to head for the coast — or at least dress like you are.
