AMI Paris Launches AMI Kids: Its First Childrenswear Collection

AMI Paris is moving into childrenswear with AMI Kids, its first collection for younger wardrobes and a direct extension of the house's signature approach to modern dressing.

Built around childhood, friendship and self-expression, AMI Kids takes the brand's familiar codes and scales them for everyday life. The collection is unisex, practical and deliberately relaxed, with an emphasis on clothes that can accommodate movement rather than dictate it.

At its centre is the Ami de Cœur, AMI Paris's instantly recognisable heart emblem, which appears across the collection. Knitwear, hoodies, shirts, T-shirts, sweatpants, cardigans, beanies and caps form the core wardrobe, made primarily in cotton and wool.

The colour palette stays close to AMI Paris's established vocabulary: grey, beige, green, navy, light blue and black, alongside classic stripes. There is little here that depends on occasion dressing. Instead, the collection is intended for the realities of childhood — playing, exploring, making friends and generally putting clothes through their paces.

That makes AMI Kids less a miniature version of the adult line than a considered translation of its principles. The proportions and categories may change, but the house's preference for uncomplicated, recognisable pieces remains intact. For AMI Paris, the launch also has a neat sense of symmetry. The house is building a wardrobe around the period when personal style is still forming, friendships are first established and self-expression is largely instinctive.

AMI Kids puts the Ami de Cœur at the centre of that idea, turning one of AMI Paris's defining signatures into a childrenswear proposition designed for everyday wear.
