RIVER ISLAND - RI STUDIO A/W '14
This season, River Island is all about hero pieces. The new collection from the RI Studio line draws on a dark, stark monochromatic colour palette (with the odd touch of navy thrown in to keep things interesting).
With colour lacking, it is up to design detail to do the talking. In this range, that comes via the form of a super minimalist approach – quilting, chunky zip details and mesh all make for a distinctly sporty feel which is further heightened with the slightly oversized nature of the pieces. All in all, it’s a solid combination of luxury sportswear come smart outerwear which is a style that River Island does better than the rest.
Here is a closer look at some of the pieces which hits stores this month:
The Vinzenz mac is great for transitional seasons with its nylon fabric.
The leather look shoulder panels up the macho factor.
The Reinhard collarless white shirt is a River Island staple,
re-imagined in crisp white cotton with geometric panelling.
The Gregor bomber jacket has sped right to the top of my most wanted list (which is a very long list indeed)
with its classic MA-1 shape, striking chevron design and sexy gold zips.
