When it comes to menswear brands that have stood the test of time, Italy has their fair share. Superga has made a name for themselves for their affordable sneakers with mass global appeal. Named after the Superga Hill in Turin, the brand began when a local shoemaker, Mr Walter Martiny made rubber soled footwear for local farmers. The first notable model, the 2750 (still a classic) came in 1926 and has the same vulcanised rubber sole today.

Fans of the high-top model will love the minimal 2942, which merges traditional shoes for the Italian Army with contemporary streetwear trends for a perfect urban day look, as reliable as it is cool with a unlined upper in extra strong, full breathable pure cotton. A smarter option that blends sport and refinement is the 2843, which looks great in the brushed leather options. Although, when the sun is out and you really can’t be bothered with the hassle that getting dressed involved, sliders are the only real choice.
