New & Lingwood AW23

For AW23, New & Lingwood presents a collection that underlines its long-harbored admiration for the great British landscape, drawing inspiration from the often-overlooked shift from summer to autumn. Designed by Creative Director Tom Leeper, his fourth collection exudes mature playfulness through meticulous textures and harmonious tones, delivering sophisticated and elevated attire suitable for both rural and urban adventures, all while remaining true to the brand's distinctive spirit.

For his reference points, Leeper worked from a capsule of hand-picked rich, autumnal wool fabrics woven by British heritage mills. Each cloth conceals a treasure trove of charming trans-seasonal colours that are expanded throughout the collection. Vibrant specks of teal, orange, and pink, are available alongside grounding creams. These hues harmonise effortlessly with lambswool crewnecks, hand-knitted in Scotland, chunky 5-wale corduroy trousers, opulent dressing gowns, and sand-washed silk pyjamas. This colour theory extends to two other standout styles: the plaid Chore jacket with quilted lining and the green waxed cotton jacket, which have counterparts in Fair Isle knitwear, moleskin trousers, and brushed cotton shirts, promoting smart layering and colourful combinations. While the collection reflects the British countryside's ever-changing landscape, it also offers a range of city-friendly tailoring.

Focused on a refined colour palette of navy, charcoal, and grey, these tailored pieces exude an increased sense of relaxed elegance compared to previous collections while maintaining a corporate-appropriate look. Examples include pure cashmere sports jackets and double- breasted suits in Prince of Wales check fabrics featuring a natural shoulder line, patch pockets, and buggy linings. Additionally, the striking cashmere top coats boast featherlight constructions and inverted-pleat backs for added flair.
