LORENZ.OG x Mizuno x Footpatrol: Running Into the First Light

LORENZ.OG has built a reputation on colour. His signature gradients — fluid, elemental, and often bordering on the hypnotic — have transformed sneakers and streetwear into coded studies of movement and emotion. For his latest project, he’s joined forces with Mizuno Running and London sneaker institution Footpatrol to create a capsule inspired by something far more natural: the first light of day.

The “First Light” collection takes the quiet transition between night and morning as its starting point — the pale blushes, muted golds, and evolving tones that appear for just a few moments before sunrise. It’s the first time LORENZ.OG has worked with this particular palette, and the result is a study in restraint. The colours are soft but still distinctly his — gradients that move like air, framed by Mizuno’s technical precision and Footpatrol’s London edge.

The capsule includes a full running lineup: a lightweight jacket, technical vest, performance tee, shorts, cap, and two sock options. Functionally, it’s ready for the road — built from breathable, performance-driven fabrics that speak to Mizuno’s athletic heritage. Visually, it bridges fashion and sport, the kind of kit that could take you from a 10K to a coffee in Soho without missing a step.

The campaign, fittingly, was shot in LORENZ.OG’s family hometown of Rome. Captured at sunrise, the imagery folds warmth and nostalgia into the project — a personal touch that grounds its high-performance DNA in something human. There’s a quietness to the visuals, an authenticity that feels right for a designer who has always approached colour like memory: shifting, emotional, and alive.

To mark the launch, Footpatrol will host a community run through London on Saturday 1st November, starting from their Berwick Street store at 8:30am. It’s a small but fitting detail — a celebration of movement, collaboration, and that fleeting morning light that started it all.
