The latest collection from Levi’s Vintage Clothing harks back to the sunny days of San Francisco in the Sixties and Seventies. Taking their cue from the history of the Bay Area, the effortlessly cool new range specifically takes its inspiration from the soapbox derbies that were hosted by the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

Whilst it sounds completely baffling that a museum would sponsor a soapbox race, sponsor they did. In 1975 the museum set forth a wave of local creativity when it gave $250 to those that created their own soapbox. Levis was one of the first local businesses that sponsored the event and of course, had a part to play in the wardrobes of the racers.

Taking things full circle, those racers are now back in such a way that we might wish it was 1975 again. Bright pastel tones, retro overalls, trucker jackets and boxy shirts appear throughout with, with washed out edges to give a more lived in feel. Sweaters and hoodies are similarly boxy and are the perfect accompaniment to the 501 and 505 jeans.
