FINK’S at Clissold House: A North London Classic Reimagined
North London favourite FINK’S has levelled up. Known for its unfussy food, thoughtful sourcing, and distinct personality, the beloved café and bakery has officially opened its largest project to date — FINK’S at Clissold House. Set within the Grade II listed building at the heart of Stoke Newington’s Clissold Park, the new site is a bold, character-filled revival that blends history with modern creativity.
At its core, the opening represents a return to FINK’S roots — seasonal dishes, standout coffee, and the sense of neighbourhood connection that has defined the brand since its early days. Co-founders Jess Blackstone and Mat Appleton, both locals, have long had their eyes on the building. “Clissold Park has been a home from home for us,” they say, “so it feels surreal that we’re finally in the House, serving food and coffee in a space we love.”
Spread across three spaces — The Kiosk, The Pink Room, and The Dining Room — FINK’S at Clissold House offers a full day’s worth of reasons to stop by. The Kiosk, accessible through the park’s Rose Garden, delivers takeaway coffee, pastries, and quick bites from behind a bold yellow-and-red counter. Inside, The Pink Room is the heartbeat of the operation — a lively café flooded in FINK’S signature pink, accented with cornflower blue woodwork and pops of red. Tiered display tables showcase their famous house-made cakes and bakes, while grab-and-go options keep pace with weekday life.
Then there’s The Dining Room — the brand’s first true sit-down restaurant. Painted in shades of deep green and coral, it’s warm, intimate, and designed for longer stays. With seating for 45 indoors and 18 more on the portico, it’s an extension of FINK’S personality: relaxed but polished, fun without losing focus.
The menu, crafted by co-founder and Culinary Director Jess Blackstone with Head Chef Matilde Romeo (ex-Serpentine Gallery Café), is a confident mix of breakfast staples and easy-going lunch plates. The Clissold Rarebit — made with 40ft Brewery’s Neighbourhood IPA on house sourdough — sets the tone. Elsewhere, the Giant Rosti with Cavolo Nero and crispy Serrano ham, and the Pumpkin Scapece Tart with stracciatella and almonds, lean into FINK’S seasonal ethos. The Honey Mustard Chicken Melt on brioche might just become a new cult classic.
FINK’S also hasn’t forgotten its younger guests. The Ducklings Menu includes kid-friendly favourites like Cornflake Chicken Dippers and Broccoli & Cheese Balls — a nod to nostalgia delivered with the same attention to quality as the rest of the menu.
Design-wise, the interiors are as expressive as the menu. Blackstone collaborated with London designer Miles Dean to reimagine the Georgian interiors through a modern lens. Expect elegant wooden details, bold colours, and a tactile mix of materials that feel both rooted and playful — all without overshadowing the building’s heritage.
Beyond the design and food, sustainability remains a cornerstone of FINK’S philosophy. Produce is sourced locally from small farms like SHRUB and Natoora, bread is made from WildFarmed regenerative flour, and coffee comes courtesy of Scenery Coffee Roasters. Deliveries between sites are handled by bike courier — a small but deliberate commitment to keeping their footprint low.
This new location marks FINK’S fifth in North London, joining its established outposts on Chatsworth Road, Gillespie Road, and Mountgrove Road, as well as the Clissold Park Pump House. And while the new Clissold House opening signals the brand’s biggest move yet, it stays true to everything that’s made FINK’S a local institution — approachable, creative, and unmistakably community-driven.
