BREITLING GOES GALACTIC WITH ERLING HAALAND’S SIGNATURE CHRONOMAT
Breitling’s latest drop doesn’t shy away from a bold statement. In collaboration with football’s most lethal forward, Erling Haaland, the Swiss watchmaker unveils three Chronomat models that orbit the edge of tradition and out-there innovation. What they all have in common? Meteorite dials – literally extraterrestrial rock sliced into timekeeping form – and the kind of limited-edition scarcity that guarantees collector appeal.
Two of the pieces are available to the public (if you're lucky): the Chronomat Automatic GMT 40 in stainless steel and platinum (limited to 500), and the Chronomat B01 42 in 18k red gold (limited to 250). A third model, the “ONE OF 5”, is an ultra-rare edition made exclusively for Haaland and his inner circle. It’s not just a nod to exclusivity – it’s a private celebration of dominance, legacy, and personal style.
The standout here is that meteorite dial. Carved from the Muonionalusta meteorite – a 4.5-billion-year-old chunk of space metal that crash-landed in what is now northern Sweden – each dial is totally unique, thanks to the Widmanstätten pattern that naturally forms during its eons-long cooling process in space. It’s a texture you can’t fake, and one that makes every watch truly one-of-one.
The GMT 40 model keeps things clean and modern: a stainless steel case with a platinum bezel, Haaland’s initials on the seconds hand, and his number 9 engraved on the caseback alongside a silhouette of his signature goal celebration. It’s offered on a matching steel rouleaux bracelet or a black rubber strap. Prices start at £8,150.
The B01 42 ramps up the heat – literally – with a full 18k red gold case. It’s fitted with Breitling’s in-house Caliber 01 movement and displays tri-compax chronograph subdials over the same meteorite face. Offered with the choice of a red gold bracelet (£39,700) or rubber strap (£21,900), it’s flash with function, combining a 70-hour power reserve and COSC-certified precision with unapologetic visual presence.
And then there’s the “ONE OF 5” – the watch Haaland himself wears. All red gold. Meteorite dial. His name and number engraved into the case. It’s not for sale, but it’s the blueprint of the collaboration’s personal core. All models are packaged in a custom wooden box and come with a signed thank-you note from Haaland, reinforcing the close-knit nature of the release.
In a category where collaborations can often feel surface-level, this one feels genuinely aligned. Haaland’s rise – all force, finesse, and inevitability – fits perfectly with the Chronomat’s mix of performance heritage and design punch. It’s a watch built for someone who doesn’t just watch history, but writes it.
The Breitling x Erling Haaland Chronomat collection is available from July 2025 at Breitling boutiques and online. Quantities are extremely limited, which, like a Haaland hat-trick, only adds to the impact.
