Bang & Olufsen Unveils Beo Grace: Wearable Sound as Luxury Design

Bang & Olufsen has never shied away from treating technology like sculpture, and its new release, the Beo Grace earpieces, takes that ethos into the pocket-sized world of earbuds. Presented as a century of design distilled into wearable sound, Beo Grace straddles the line between fine jewellery and precision audio engineering, making the case that a daily accessory can be just as considered as a timepiece or tailored jacket.

The form is unmistakably Bang & Olufsen. A polished aluminium stem reinterprets the brand’s iconic A8 earphones, pulling a design classic into the wireless era. Each piece is machined from metal, cool to the touch and reassuring in its finish, then housed in a pearl-blasted aluminium case with the same discreet elegance you’d expect from a cufflink box. The intention is clear: these aren’t disposable gadgets, but crafted objects designed to be worn.

Functionally, they keep pace with the best of modern performance. A newly engineered 12mm titanium driver delivers the sort of fidelity you’d expect from the brand’s larger over-ear models, now optimised with Spatial Audio and tuned for Dolby Atmos. Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation operates in real time, adjusting to the fit of the ear and the surrounding environment. Transparency mode has been reworked too, offering an uncanny recreation of outside sound without the hiss or distortion that usually comes with it.

Controls have been given a tactile rethink. Instead of the fussy touch panels common to wireless earbuds, Beo Grace uses precision force sensing, offering the satisfying feedback of a mechanical click with every press. Volume adjustments come via NearTap™, a system that responds to taps in front of the ear — intuitive, discreet, and robust enough for life on the move.

Performance is supported by practical upgrades. Battery life pushes to 4.5 hours with ANC, extended to 17 hours via the charging case, and five minutes on charge delivers more than two hours of playback. Internally, a custom battery management system—developed in partnership with intelligence firm Breathe—sets a new benchmark for lifespan, tested to withstand more than 2,000 charging cycles.

Accessories lean into the fashion conversation. A bespoke leather pouch, available in Infinite Black, Cranberry Red, and Seashell Grey, wraps around the charging case and adds a shoulder strap — more akin to a luxury small leather good than a tech afterthought.

Launching in Natural Aluminium on 17 November with an RRP of £999, Beo Grace is positioned as much in the realm of menswear and luxury lifestyle as in consumer electronics.
