RIMOWA × Faber-Castell: The Artist Case Puts Luxury Craftsmanship to Work

There is a certain logic to pairing RIMOWA with Faber-Castell. Both are German institutions built around functional objects, considered materials and craftsmanship, but their latest collaboration moves beyond the conventional luggage category.

The RIMOWA × Faber-Castell Artist Case is a limited-edition aluminium case designed around the business of drawing. Made at RIMOWA’s Cologne factory, it takes the construction language of the Classic collection and applies it to a decidedly different purpose.

The silver anodised aluminium exterior is finished with Classic-style high-gloss corners, TSA-approved locks and a leather carrying handle. Inside, a two-level tray system opens to present the contents rather than simply store them, with space for 120 Polychromos colour pencils, co-branded grooved 2B graphite pencils, plus a RIMOWA-branded platinum-plated sharpener and eraser. RIMOWA has spent years establishing aluminium luggage as a recognisable design proposition, and here that language is transferred into something closer to a desk accessory, studio piece and collector’s object. The aluminium is intended to develop a patina through use, meaning the case will change rather than remain pristine.

Faber-Castell brings its own history. Founded in 1761, the ninth-generation family business supplies the creative hardware, including its oil-based Polychromos pencils, while RIMOWA supplies the architecture around it.

Priced at €2,400, the Artist Case launched on 17 September 2026 through RIMOWA stores worldwide and RIMOWA.com, with selected Faber-Castell availability in Europe. It comes with a two-year guarantee.
