LESTRANGE’s The Apartment Reimagines the Modern Menswear Store

Retail has spent years trying to make shopping faster. LESTRANGE is taking the opposite approach.

The British menswear brand has opened The Apartment, a new 30sqm retail concept on Berwick Street, Soho, designed by London interior studio Tabitha Isobel. Rather than a traditional store built around product displays and quick transactions, the space is designed to feel closer to a well-considered dressing room at home.

The idea began with a simple observation: men are often most comfortable trying on clothes in familiar spaces — their own bedroom, or a friend’s flat where they can ask for an honest opinion. The Apartment translates that relaxed environment into a retail setting, encouraging customers to spend time with the collection rather than simply browse and leave.

The interior reflects LESTRANGE’s understated approach to menswear. Warm oak flooring, walnut-stained timber panelling, soft stone walls and minimalist Vitsoe shelving create a backdrop that feels residential rather than commercial. Vintage furniture and objects add personality, including a first-generation iPod, Braun SK4 record player and Moccamaster coffee machine — subtle nods to Berwick Street’s history as a hub for independent music and culture.

Clothing is presented through uncluttered rails and the brand’s signature Trouser Bar, reinforcing LESTRANGE’s philosophy of investing in fewer, better pieces designed to last. A central seating area allows visitors to pause over coffee or browse newspapers and magazines, while private wardrobe consultations and considered changing spaces sit below the main floor.

For a brand built around versatility, longevity and responsible consumption, The Apartment feels like a natural extension of LESTRANGE’s philosophy. It is less about selling more clothes and more about creating the right environment to choose them.
