BURTON MANSWEAR A/W '14
For autumn/ winter 2014 high street giant Burton presents a collection that combines retro and vintage references to create highly wearable pieces that would fit perfectly into the wardrobes of many a rakish gent.
With the mission to make sure that everyday is tailored, there is a strong, lean silhouette which is not only sophisticated and modern, but also means that every piece in the collection, whether it is suits or denim, has a tailored feel. Denim is slim without being skinny and the same can be said for the suiting and the outerwear (which is some of the strongest on the high street at the moment).
That retro vibe comes via subtle print and pattern which is seen to greatest effect on the knitwear. Drawing specifically on the 1960s and 90s, some of the key pieces include the double breasted overcoat (very Mad Men) and the urban skater pieces which feature quilted jackets, plaid shirting and of course that essential parka (Oasis circa 1997).
Overall, a tight and concise collection with loads of pieces that you could get a great deal of wear out of. In short, the perfect choice if you are looking for tailored, smart but casual, high street price friendly clothes.
