RICHIE CULVER x TOPMAN
Topman have just announced their latest collaboration – they have tapped up British artist Richie Culver, who is famous for his paintings, collages and mixed media creations, to create a collection based on his personal style and experiences.
Comprising of just eleven limited edition pieces, Culver has taken pieces from his early experiments in graphic photography and employed them onto long length sweatshirts and slightly oversize T shirts and hoodies. The effect is that the simple, black and white images really stand out on the simple canvas. The prints are strong, inspirational images – I love the T shirt of Barbie’s legs dangling and the distorted print of Sinatra on a sweatshirt.
Turning to the pieces themselves, they are all Topman appropriate prices with T shirts at £25 and sweatshirts at £35. Accompanying the launch of the range is this short film, created by Culver and directed by Tom Beard, which was inspired by the big move to London from his beloved hometown of Hull.
