LOOK OF THE WEEK
As we move from winter to spring, it is time to cast aside dark and heavy threads, and start thinking about a lighter, brighter wardrobe for the coming months. This week’s illustrated rakish gent does exactly that, embracing a sporty, white look that is perfect for when (eventually) the sun comes out.
White jeans are not the easiest of pieces to pull off. There is something very rakish about them though, and I would suggest that the key to getting them right, is to keep the cut slim and skinny. These Asos jeans look great when paired with a super luxe cashemere sweater, like this one from The Elder Statesman. Available at Mr Porter, it is light enough to be layered easily and features a striking dip dye print. Luxury does not always mean high prices though, as proven by these Shoes Like Pottery canvas trainers at Matches Fashion, which are paired with a bang on trend white leather look backpack from Asos.
This weeks illustration has been brought to life by the talented hand of Maria Gottwig. Born in Russia, Maria grew up in Berlin, where she was educated in design and art. After a long working residence with a designer in Rome and graduating from the University of Arts Berlin, she now works in illustration and as a portraitist. Her work is influenced by graphic design and fine art and the balance between space and colour. You can see more of her awesome work on her website and follow her on Instagram.
