LOOK OF THE WEEK
Stuck for what to wear for your big Valentines date night? Well, as usual, we are here to help with a quick and easy guide on how to impress, without looking like you have tried too hard (take it easy on the cologne). The key to getting date night style right is to keep things clean, simple and without fuss. You also want to give some impression of the person that you really are. So, if you spend all week in a thankless job where you have to wear a suit but you love nothing more than a trendy bomber then go for it.
If your goal for the night is to get lucky, please, we implore you; make sure you are wearing nice pants. We highly recommend these white jersey boxer briefs from Hamilton & Hare. They are certainly much more rakish than Batman/ Superman or Spiderman pants that you might currently be wearing.
There is nothing wrong with smart denim on a date and if you have the legs for them, why not opt for a pair of skinny jeans? These are from French power house Givenchy and are available at FarFetch.
The bomber jacket has become something of a menswear staple over the last few seasons so wearing a decent one shows that you know a thing or two about style. Alexander McQueen rarely ever put a foot wrong and this jacket was one of the strongest from their SS15 collection with its beautiful organza abstract print.
This week we had the pleasure of working again with one of our favourite illustrators. Dwight Merca last appeared on the site in October last year when he painted a stunning creation of a smart/ casual look. For those new to his work, he is a California based artist whose illustration is inspired by architecture, models and fashion. His work is renowned for being super realistic (as the images featured here show) and you can explore his work further on his Tumblr and Instagram pages.
