LOOK OF THE WEEK
One of the best things about featuring weekly artwork from different illustrators is the range of work that they all bring to the site. In the last few weeks these have included classical portrait style, paper cutting and vector art. This week’s illustrator, Mr David Andrews is known for his loose and rapid style which he realises in a variety of media including paper collage, digital and marker pens. Based in London, his work has been featured in XXY Magazine and Zero Magazine, who featured his London Collections: Men pieces.
Alexander McQueen is without a doubt one of The Rakish Gent’s most favoured brands. Season after season, the label brings great pieces that are intelligent, different to the rest but are still wearable. I love the way that David has captured the streetwise swag of the McQueen stripe-jacquard bomber jacket (available at Matches Fashion) with the futuristic metallic gold stripe. Adding to that street friendly look are the Neil Barrett cropped cuffed wool blend trousers at Mr Porter and Acne Studios black leather Derby shoes which I have been beyond obsessed with for some time. You can grab a pair at Oki-Ni.
Thanks to David for taking the time out of his busy schedule to create this work for The Rakish Gent. I really love his loose, rapid but highly accurate style of illustration. You can find out more about him and his work on his very cool website as well as follow him on Twitter and Instagram.
