For S/S ’16, the father & son duo that is Casely-Hayford looked to their love of London culture as a source of inspiration. Having resided in East London for over 25 years, the recent move of premises to the North of the city presented a new perspective and clash of cultures.
It was this clash that we saw in the pieces sent down the runway. Fusing African, European, Columbian and Asian influences, London was presented as a city of global elements. The collection played on the concept of the future, and how people from disparate backgrounds can come together.
This bold aesthetic was demonstrated with a new silhouette for the brand – larger sizes and a softer, looser line. Athletic, oversized trousers and jackets looked supremely comfortable and the ongoing focus on sportswear x tailoring continued. Everything was beautifully brought together with a vibrant colour palette and rich textures.
